Terms & Privacy Policy
The terms that govern your use of RTE Logs Inc. services, and how we handle your data.
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of RTE Logs Inc.'s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) software, fleet management tools, websites, dashboards, mobile apps and related services, together the "Service". Creating an account, buying a plan or using the Service means you accept these Terms.
1. About these Terms
These Terms are a binding agreement between you ("Customer", "you") and RTE Logs Inc. ("RTE Logs Inc.", "we", "us"). If you use the Service for a company, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that company to these Terms.
2. Definitions
- "Subscription" is a recurring plan charged once per Billing Cycle.
- "Billing Cycle" is the period you pay for in advance, such as one month.
- "Device" is the ELD hardware or vehicle interface equipment used with the Service.
- "Usage Data" covers login events, IP addresses, device identifiers, activity logs and operational telemetry produced when you use the Service.
3. Eligibility and account responsibility
You must give accurate account and billing details, keep your payment information up to date and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including actions taken by your drivers, dispatchers and administrators.
4. Service scope and license
RTE Logs Inc. gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business purposes while your Subscription is paid. You may not resell or sublicense the Service, reverse engineer it, or try to extract its source code.
5. Billing, renewals and authorization
- Prepaid billing. Subscriptions are charged in advance for each Billing Cycle unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Automatic renewal. Your Subscription renews on its own unless you cancel before the next billing date.
- Authorization. When you buy a plan, you authorize RTE Logs Inc. and our payment processors to charge your chosen payment method for recurring fees, taxes and any add-ons you agreed to.
- Service delivery. Access credentials, account activation, data processing and feature availability during a Billing Cycle make up the Service delivered for that cycle.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time in your account settings, where available, or by emailing support@rtelogs.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the Billing Cycle you have already paid for, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Unused time is not prorated unless a written agreement says it will be.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes trying to gain unauthorized access, disrupting system performance, scraping, sending malware, or using the Service to break the law or infringe anyone else's rights.
8. Data, logs and retention
The Service creates operational records such as usage logs, audit trails, timestamps and device events. We may keep and use these records to:
- Run and secure the Service
- Provide customer support
- Meet our legal obligations
- Keep evidence that the Service was accessed and delivered, including for billing questions, fraud prevention and payment disputes
9. Regulatory compliance disclaimer
RTE Logs Inc. provides tools that support compliance work such as HOS logs, DVIRs, IFTA and related reports. You alone are responsible for making sure your operations follow every law and regulation that applies to you, including FMCSA requirements, and for training your staff to use the Service correctly.
10. Billing disputes and chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, contact RTE Logs Inc. first so we can look into it and fix it.
- Notice window. Send billing questions to support@rtelogs.com within 30 days of the charge.
- Evidence of service. We may use account logs, including logins, access timestamps, device events and system activity, to confirm that the Service was delivered and to answer billing questions or disputes.
- Chargebacks. You agree to make a good-faith attempt to resolve billing issues with RTE Logs Inc. before starting a chargeback. If a chargeback is filed, RTE Logs Inc. may share relevant records, including invoices, subscription details, your acceptance of these Terms and usage logs, with payment processors and card issuers to defend a valid charge.
- Administrative costs. Where the law allows, RTE Logs Inc. may seek repayment of reasonable administrative costs caused by responding to fraudulent or bad-faith chargebacks.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the fullest extent the law allows, RTE Logs Inc. disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. RTE Logs Inc. does not promise that the Service will run without interruption or errors, or that it will satisfy every regulatory requirement in every operating situation.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RTE Logs Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. RTE Logs Inc.'s total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the Service is capped at the amount you paid RTE Logs Inc. for the Service in the three (3) months right before the event that led to the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify RTE Logs Inc. and hold it harmless from claims that result from your misuse of the Service, your violation of applicable law or your violation of anyone else's rights.
14. Suspension and termination
RTE Logs Inc. may suspend or end your access if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, used the Service fraudulently or created a security risk. Suspension does not cancel your obligation to pay what is owed for the current Billing Cycle.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where RTE Logs Inc. is established, without applying conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the competent courts of that jurisdiction unless applicable law requires a different venue.

To learn what Personal Data we hold about you, why we process it and who we share it with, contact the Owner using the details below.
Owner and Data Controller
RTE Logs Inc.
Email: support@rtelogs.com
Types of Data collected
The Owner does not publish a list of the Personal Data types it collects.
Full details on each type of Personal Data collected appear in the relevant sections of this policy or in explanations shown before the Data is collected. Users may provide Personal Data themselves, and Usage Data is collected automatically when this Application is used.
Unless stated otherwise, all Data this Application asks for is required, and not providing it may make it impossible for this Application to deliver its services. Where this Application says certain Data is optional, Users may leave it out with no effect on the availability or operation of the Service.
Users who are unsure which Personal Data is required can contact the Owner. Any use of Cookies or other tracking tools by this Application, or by the owners of third-party services it uses, is for the purpose of providing the Service the User requested, along with any other purposes described in this document and in the Cookie Policy.
Users are responsible for any third-party Personal Data they obtain, publish or share through this Application, and confirm that they have that third party's consent to provide the Data to the Owner.
How and where the Data is processed
Methods of processing
The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, disclosure, alteration or destruction of the Data.
Data is processed with computers and IT tools, following organizational procedures and methods tied strictly to the stated purposes. Besides the Owner, the Data may in some cases be accessible to certain people involved in running this Application (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or to external parties appointed by the Owner as Data Processors where needed, such as third-party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies and communications agencies. Users can ask the Owner for an up-to-date list of these parties at any time.
Legal basis of processing
The Owner may process Users' Personal Data when one of the following applies:
- The User has consented to one or more specific purposes. Under some laws the Owner may process Personal Data until the User objects ("opt-out") without relying on consent or any other legal basis below. This does not apply where processing is subject to European data protection law.
- The Data is needed to perform an agreement with the User or for steps taken before entering into one.
- Processing is needed to meet a legal obligation that applies to the Owner.
- Processing relates to a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority given to the Owner.
- Processing is needed for the legitimate interests of the Owner or a third party.
The Owner is always happy to explain which legal basis applies to any processing, and in particular whether providing Personal Data is required by law or contract, or is needed to enter into a contract.
Place
Data is processed at the Owner's operating offices and anywhere else the parties involved in processing are located. Depending on where the User is, this may mean transferring the User's Data to another country. Details about where transferred Data is processed can be found in the section on processing Personal Data.
Users also have the right to know the legal basis for transferring Data outside the European Union or to an international organization governed by public international law or formed by two or more countries, such as the UN, and what security measures the Owner uses to protect their Data.
If such a transfer happens, Users can learn more in the relevant sections of this document or by asking the Owner through the contact details provided.
Retention time
Personal Data is processed and stored for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires. This means:
- Personal Data collected to perform a contract between the Owner and the User is kept until that contract has been fully performed.
- Personal Data collected for the Owner's legitimate interests is kept for as long as needed to serve those interests. Users can find details on those interests in the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.
The Owner may keep Personal Data longer when the User has consented to it, for as long as that consent is not withdrawn. The Owner may also be required to keep Personal Data longer to meet a legal obligation or on the order of an authority.
When the retention period ends, the Personal Data is deleted. After that point, the rights of access, erasure, rectification and data portability can no longer be exercised.
Users' rights
Users may exercise certain rights over the Data the Owner processes. In particular, Users have the right to:
- Withdraw consent at any time where they previously gave consent to the processing of their Personal Data.
- Object to processing of their Data when it is carried out on a legal basis other than consent. More detail is given below.
- Access their Data, including learning whether Data is being processed, getting information about certain aspects of the processing and receiving a copy of the Data.
- Verify and request correction of their Data, and have it updated.
- Restrict processing of their Data in certain circumstances, in which case the Owner will only store the Data and process it for no other purpose.
- Have their Personal Data deleted by the Owner in certain circumstances.
- Receive their Data and have it transferred to another controller in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and where technically possible have it sent directly to another controller. This applies when the Data is processed by automated means and the processing is based on the User's consent, on a contract the User is party to, or on steps taken before such a contract.
- Lodge a complaint with their competent data protection authority.
Details about the right to object
Where Personal Data is processed in the public interest, in the exercise of official authority given to the Owner, or for the Owner's legitimate interests, Users may object by giving a reason related to their particular situation.
If Personal Data is processed for direct marketing, Users may object at any time without giving a reason. To find out whether the Owner processes Personal Data for direct marketing, Users can check the relevant sections of this document.
How to exercise these rights
Requests to exercise these rights can be sent to the Owner using the contact details in this document. Requests are free of charge, and the Owner will respond as soon as possible and always within one month.
Cookie Policy
This Application uses Trackers. To learn more, Users can read the Cookie Policy.
